Coverage from our event doesn’t have to be limited to our own outlets. The latest to report on our low-buck extravaganza, the Grassroots Motorsports $2000 Challenge presented by Tire Rack and powered by AutoBidMaster?

Jalopnik.

The problem with new cars is that they're hilariously expensive,” notes Jalopnik editor Brad Brownell. “If you want to go fast but don't have any money, you have to have a reserve of scrappiness, skill, and ingenuity.”

And, as we see every year, our $2000 Challenge is ripe with those three attributes.

also the comment peanut gallery is......exactly what I thought it would be. "waaaaaa I don't have the tools or skills so this would cost me 10 grand this is just more rich guy racing" go to hell or show up and have fun, losers.

our 2027 budget is at under $500 with car, engine, trans, new clutch, adapter bell all in there and zero recoup.... they would have an aneurysm.

In reply to David S. Wallens :

who's gonna stop a team made of me, axehealey, Pete(knurled), and bradley? lots of people, that's who, but we're gonna have some fun together in the next couple years building something awesome that does not break the bank.
