While the $2000 Challenge has always been open to every make and model of car, we are officially welcoming all Formula SAE teams.

It would be cool to see FSAE cars competing with a more realistic cost constraint, as I recall FSAE really looked at 30 years ago. A $5000 Formula car would be a proper fit for the Challenge.
Cool idea, hope they won't be competing against others though. Unfortunately some SAE cars are well over $50k and will smoke hypercars.
and some FSAE cars cost $20k and have smoked hypercars.
Be sure to reach out to the University of Florida team! They came out a few years ago and it was awesome to see!
