Can a car built for less than $2000 be faster than a car built for more? You'll have a chance to put that theory to the test ar our annual Grassroots Motorsports $2000 Challenge Presented by Tire Rack.

Whether it’s been built or bought for more than $2000, it’s welcome to compete in our autocross and drag racing sessions.

While the grand prize is limited to under-budget builds, we still have several awards available for the fastest over-budget entries.

For more information, including how you can enter your car, visit 2000challenge.com.

The Grassroots Motorsports $2000 Challenge is Presented by Tire Rack and Powered by Autobidmaster.com, in Association with HPX ShowCRC IndustriesA&A Manufacturing and BendPak.

Good try, I don't think I'll make it this year.

I think I will be ready to bring my car down. Why does the event always seems so far away until the last few weeks.

I've dabbled off-on with the idea of bringing the prius down for this... but I'm not sure I'll have it buttoned up in time; nor that I will have availability to be that far away from the house by then.  sad

maybe next year
