The LeMay, America’s Car Museum in Tacoma, Washington, just announced a special display scheduled to start on May 12. Sixteen of BMW’s most iconic race cars from private collectors and the BMW USA Classic Collection will chronicle and celebrate BMW’s storied motorsports legacy.

Among the cars on display will be the very first 1961 700 RS, a 1972 3.0 CSL Group 2 Rally Car—the only one of its kind—and a 2000 BMW Williams Formula F1 driven by Ralf Schumacher.

The Bavarian-themed grand opening celebration at America’s Car Museum takes place the evening of May 12. As part of the festivities, America’s Car Museum Master Collector Peter Gleason will moderate a live discussion with notable BMW figures including Bill Auberlen, Erik Wensberg and Thomas Plucinsky. Tickets for the grand opening can be purchased here. Bonus: The first 150 guests will receive a free poster.

For those who cannot make the evening opening, ACM Curator of Exhibitry Scot Keller will be leading an exclusive early entry Curator Talk & Tour on the morning of May 13.
