For the unrestricted cars, am I right in assuming we don't need to fill out any of the budget paperwork? I'm hoping to show up with something under budget, but I have an out of budget back up plan.

Our $2000 Challenge returns for 2022 with a new twist: Now presented by Tire Rack, this year's event will allow cars built without budget limitations to compete directly against cars built within a strict $2000 budget.
Will they prove that money equals speed? Or will our $2000 Challenge competitors show that creativity beats money? We'll find out October 22-23 at Gainesville Raceway in Gainesville, Florida.
Also new for this year: Multiple classes based on tire size, trackside camping, and more. It's shaping up to be the best $2000 Challenge yet!

Im going to try to be ready but I won't be there. That occurs during the peak demand for bus drivers.
I will try to do a Northern version of the event. Perhaps others for whatever reason can do their own localized version, Absentee ballot if you will. Or even if they can't do the autocross or drag race they can send photo's, their 3 minute speech ( 1 page double spaced) of unique features, how far they got, plus a copy of the budget?
Postmarked or sent by the opening of the event?
I'll donate a wooden trophy for the lamest excuse. ;-).
I'd imagine doing a $2000 challenge is even more difficult with the price of everything being so high.
Sorry, but you'll have to attend the $2000 Challenge in order to compete in the $2000 Challenge. Additionally, Grassroots Motorsports will defend our trademark as necessary.
Can you change Classes after you register? I'm thinking of GTN$ but may switch to GTU$.
For the unlimited budget cars, I think it would be fun to have the "expectation" be that they put a reasonable estimate of the total build cost on paper. Clearly not itemized and documented with receipts. I realize that some people may not want to openly state how much they have into the car and strictly requiring it may be a detriment to participation but I for one think it would be neat knowledge.

Yes, you should be able to make changes at will. If not, I can handle changes from my end, too.
I'm seeing lots of explanation of the tire classes, but no distinction between autocross and drag racing.
Do the tire class limitations apply only to autocross, or do the same limits apply to tires worn only on the drag strip?
