The FIRM, GRM’s official test track, has gone virtual. Thanks to Zac Staat, the Florida Rally & International Motorsports Park can be run in Assetto Corsa. From the Facebook post introducing the project:
Kind of low res environment and the track has a couple weird bumps in it but it is otherwise extremely faithful to the IRL track. Both the main track and kart track in all configurations are in this file. Included is cone chicanes along the back straights which are removable. Tested in Virtual Reality and multi-monitor. Not sure about other hardware setups. My car does about a 1:19 on this track in sim and IRL so the bumps are not too impactful on lap time once you get used to it, especially the bump in the braking zone into T10. FFB and tire degradation also works great on this model.

If you are more tech savvy than I am and you can figure out how to smooth the random bumps and get it to default loadout without the cones, I'd be really happy about that. :)

Started testing with that track a few months ago, it's mostly pretty similar to the real track from videos I've seen, the only noticeable difference is the lack of banking/camber on the big left 180deg turn going onto the pit/shoebox straight.
I'm no huge fan of Assetto Corsa, but I'll swallow my pride and try to get this installed this weekend when I'm in the mood for wrestling a non-Mac environment. Really curious how close it is to the real thing. Man if this works out we may save a lot of gas on trips across Florida.

That'll be in the everything simulator
Okay I just downloaded the file and in the release notes is says if you die at the virtual FIRM you die in real life so so far it seems pretty realistic.

Ohh cool now I can drive the LMP360 at the FIRM before I drive the LMP360 at the FIRM. Simulation is so cool.
