The Grassroots Motorsports $2000 Challenge Presented by Tire Rack–our annual low-buck celebration of autocross, drag racing and ingenuity–is fast approaching this weekend, May 27-28. Are you ready?

Build a car for less than $2000, enter your over-budget build, or both: All entries will battle against each other at Gainesville Raceway in Gainesville, Florida, to see if money really equals speed.

Spectators are always welcome, and Hagerty will be hosting a free Cars & Caffeine on Sunday morning. After the action, on May 29, there will even be a track day at our official test track, the Florida International Rally & Motorsport Park.

Visit the $2000 Challenge page on MotorsportReg to register or purchase spectator tickets. Pre-registration is required for competitors and there will be no on-site sign-ups.

Click here for a full schedule of events and here for the official rules. More helpful resources to ensure you make the most of your $2000 Challenge experience–including a decal placement guide and a list of concours questions–can be found here.

The Grassroots Motorsports $2000 Challenge is presented by Tire Rack in association with CRC Industries and Miller Electric, with trophies from ACI Automotive & Performance and Trakkrats.
