Want to see where you stack up against your competition AND the GRM track test leaderboard? Starting next month, you’ll get your chance as the Florida International Rally & Motorsport Park kicks off its five-event Track Attack series for 2025.
With events in February, April, July, October and December, the TA series will see drivers face off against the clock on the FIRM’s same 1.7-mile layout that we use for official new car and project car testing. This time trial series will feature seven classes with a simplified weight/power/tire categorization structure that should streamline classing for entrants.
The final details for the classing have yet to be finalized, and competitors shouldn't expect many surprises. The classes for the FIRM series should shake out similar to other popular series.
Overall, the simplified structure of the event is designed to appeal not only to current competitors, but to give drivers who have been wanting to try out competitive track time trials an easy and low-pressure entry point into the sport.
Even though the spirit is welcoming, there’s plenty of competition on tap. Drivers in classes meeting minimum participation requirements will be eligible for season-end prizes from a variety of series supporters (including Grassroots Motorsports).
The single-day competition format features a short, 10-minute qualifying session for all groups in the morning, followed by 20-minute sessions for the rest of the day. Your day’s best lap from any session is your official lap. Entrants are welcome to spend as much or as little time on track as they wish, and non-competitive sessions will also be available for drivers who just want to do open lapping.
Entry into the TA events is free for FIRM Drivers Club members, and entry fees start at just $250 for non-members.
We’ll be attending as many of these events as we can get to, and hopefully our schedule allows us to hit all of them. Having a competitive series at our home track is a nice chance to sharpen our skills and hang out with friends, while challenging ourselves against the clock. Save us a spot in the paddock.

I'm super excited about this series. It's like a local bowling league but the balls are cars and the pins are apexes.
