For more than a decade, our Tire Rack Ultimate Track Car Challenge has been the home of the fastest time trial cars in the country. Fitting, then, that the event joins one of the largest gatherings of time trial cars in the country, The Tire Rack SCCA Time Trials Nationals Powered by Hagerty.
Once again set to take place at Kentucky’s NCM Motorsports Park, Time Trials Nationals will return to a fall date for 2023–October 12-15.
“I’m super excited to announce the move back to the fall for Time Trials Nationals,” said SCCA National Time Trials Manager John Hunter. “Our drivers spoke, and we wanted to make sure they knew we heard them loud and clear. As a fellow driver, I get how important having the right conditions are, and we are confident that the new date will help us see new personal bests for every driver who attends.”
The date change also ensures that the facilities at NCM Motorsports Park are back in running order–as well as making sure some new additions are ready:
"The SCCA Time Trials Nationals is one of the most prized events to NCM Motorsports Park's full calendar of events,” said Matt Busby, General Manager of Track Operations at NCM Motorsports Park. “Combining the prestige and excitement of the Time Trials Nationals with the facility additions is going to provide a second-to-none participant experience both on and off the track.
“My opinion is that we have hit a sweet spot with the date for 2023, and from a participant standpoint, I am ecstatic to be on track with some of the stiffest competition the country has to offer in time attack. I look forward to seeing the Time Trials Nationals regulars as well as new faces for 2023, and am confident that the NCM Motorsports Park that our friends get to experience is going to be unlike anything they have seen before. Keep an eye on the NCM Motorsports Park's social channels for updates and announcements as our ‘Road to Recovery’ works toward its conclusion.”
The addition of the UTCC to the schedule not only offers Time Trials competitors a front-row seat in the search of the ultimate track car, but also marks the start of a new partnership between the SCCA and Grassroots Motorsports.
“We’re excited about this new partnership with the SCCA,” said Tom Suddard, Director of Marketing & Digital Assets for Grassroots Motorsports, “and can’t wait to see who claims the title of Tire Rack Ultimate Track Car at NCM next fall.”

Oh this is exciting. It's already on the calendar and I am 100% in. Expect my UTCC submission after I can get an updated picture once the car is "done" for final $2000 challenge preps.
