Track it? Drift it? Restore it for the $2000 Challenge museum?
Longtime $2000 Challenge participant Jeremey Randolph is selling Jonathan Whitaker’s V8-powered Mazda RX-7. Jonathan debuted this car at the $2000 Challenge in 2020 where it finished fifth while running an 11.961 in the quarter.
Before the car’s return the following year, it ran a 10.1 at 139 mph.
At the big event, though, two rods decided to leave home, seizing the engine. Jonathan dragged it to the concours with a tow rope.
Jeremey has since installed an LT1, but the project needs finishing. Asking price for this V8-swapped 1987 Mazda RX-7 is $3900.
