Are Smart cars the next big thing in off-roading? Probably not, but hey, why not try it out?
When you daydream about off-roading, Subaru and Jeep are the usual suspects. But a bold soul decided to shake things up.
Someone transformed this 2007 Smart car into what resembles an off-roader by slapping on a 16-inch lift kit and 33-inch tires. Although the work under the hood isn’t specified, video of the car zipping around makes it sound like changes have been made.
This quirky car comes with a clean title, and while not road legal, it’s a unique work in progress that’s looking for someone to carry the torch.
Not keen on spending the $3300 asking price? No worries. The seller is willing to consider trades for a trailer of 16 feet or longer. Still up for a challenge? This Smart car is available in Hartsville, South Carolina.

There are multiples of those local to me, and I gotta say, they're better done and less tippy looking. They're also running 33" AT tires, not side by side tires, that probably helps the look.
I want one bad, just to keep as a toy. Liter bike motor swap, 33s, and send it.
I considered doing that to my Samurai. It and a Polaris Ranger are similarly sized.
That's the best thing to happen to that car or any Smart car for that matter.
It really doesn't look any more ridiculous than a regular "Smart" car. Short wheelbase like the Daihatsu Rocky. I mean, why the heck not?
Edit: Okay, I watched the video in the article. It does look more ridiculous than a regular "Smart" car, but only a little.
Edit Edit: Who knew there was more than one Daihatsu Rocky? I was referring to the original F70 variant, which was the only one I knew existed.
