The NPD patch panel is spot welded into place and then sealed and rust-proofed inside and out.

To fix the ramp truck right, we cut the whole bottom of the door off Before installing the patch panel.

All done and sporting some new graphics and painted wheels. We'll get to those in more depth in future updates

With our ramp truck essentially up and running and most of the race equipment worked out, it was time for a little bit of bodywork. Thankfully, despite being from New England, our truck had led a seemingly sheltered life and had very little rust.

Still, there was some rust at the bottom of the driver’s door that needed to be dealt with. Fortunately, National Parts Depot had a high quality patch panel right in stock for well under $100.

As we were busy with other projects, we dropped the truck and the panel off with our friends at The Body Werks,. They help us with any body work we don’t have the time and/or skill to do. They executed an expert repair for well under $500, which included fixing a dent on the right front fender and matching everything in the correct Wimbledon White paint.

There seems like there will be a bit of a gap between the back of the door and the body. Like a fat thumb width.
I spent far too much time this past weekend putting a rust repaired fender and door back on our Challenge car, so I find myself looking hard at door gaps. It took a lot of work to go from horrible fit, to merely a poor fit. :)

I'm very curious about that huge gap myself. I Googled dozens of the era F350 and all had tight gaps.

Looks more like an incorrect part rather than a part that has typical fitment issues.
