Check it out, our 240SX's hatch now stays up by itself.

No, not a hardcore mod, but a practical one.

What’s the most annoying part about owning an older hatchback? That’s right: failed hatch struts. Do new ones make the car accelerate faster? No. Do they improve handling? No. But do they make the car so much more useful? Definitely.

We finally got tired of propping up the hatch with a stick, so for about $40 we ordered new Stabilus hatch struts from AutohausAZ for our 240SX. You know, that might be one of the best purchases we have made in a while.

Any updates on this car? Still got it? I'm ready to hear more.

I drove it to the office today, in fact. It's still fairly stock as other projects have consumed our time. Still, what a great daily driver. It's quick enough, comfortable, lots of carrying room and great visibility.
