Having also done 3 of those Raceland units, I always find myself impressed by those who don't pull the motor (it makes the job SO much easier, and you get the bonus of project-creep!). I've never had a moment's problem with any of mine in VA.

Flyin' Miata's tow hooks—a gift from Mom—are substantially lighter than the beefy OEM ones.
We have no idea where this cat came from, but we were happy to discover that it fit. We were hoping it would tone down the exhaust noise a bit, but it didn't. This car is still pretty loud.
That Touge Run front lip is aggressive, and it looks great on this somewhat rough-looking car.
Fresh spark plug wires? Sure, why not?
A little while ago, we installed a Raceland exhaust header on our 1991 Mazda Miata, and ran into some quality issues. Abused while commuting in Chicago winters, it rusted badly and eventually broke. Our second replacement didn’t fare much better, but their customer service is excellent. They offered to send us a third or refund our money. Having since relocated to sunny Florida, we took the third and hoped for the best.
Mom had sent a pair of tow hooks from Flyin’ Miata and a Touge Run front lip as birthday gifts. We took these new toys over to our friend Tom’s house for a night of wrenching. What’s more, Tom had an old high-flow catalytic converter from a 1.6-liter Miata sitting around, never used. Since our cat got plugged up—and subsequently gutted—some months prior, we jumped at the opportunity to make our car a little more earth-friendly again.
Tom had another surprise for us: A set of spark plug wires. Are they good for horsepower? No, not at all. But since these 1.6-liter Miatas tend to be hard on plug wires, we thanked him for his generosity and installed the set of Magnecor wires. It ended up being a wonderful night to shoot the breeze, turn some wrenches and drink a few beers.
