Swapping wheels is one of our first tasks.

Our street package will be these TR Motorsports C2 alloys that we previously used on our wagon.

The autocross package will be these very light TSW Nürburgring rotary forged alloys.

Looking good in front of our office.

Before we even purchased the car, we were planning on what we were going to use for street and autocross wheels. The sale of our previous BMW, the 325it wagon, did not include the super-cool TR Motorsports C2 17x8.5 wheels or the very fresh Toyo Proxes 4 Plus tires. Before we sold the wagon, we swapped out the stock E90 wheels with the TRs—making sure to switch over the later car’s tire pressure monitors in each wheel. The wagon went away on the E90’s stock alloys to the happy buyer, and we got our 328i looking much more purposeful with the aftermarket wheels.

We’ll be autocrossing the car in a stock class on street tires (D Stock or RTR). We’ll also be need a set of stock-sized 17x8 alloys for use on the track. We’re going to be borrowing some TSW Nürburgring RF rotary forged alloys for this. They weigh just 18 pounds! We’ll be pairing them with Yokohama’s Advan Neova, a great Street Touring-type tire with a Max UHP rating. This will be a great combination to swap out the night before an autocross in the comfort of our own garage—making the day at the track or course that much easier.
