The CRX had been doing pretty well during 2009 in autocrosses and normal driving. There had been some noise coming from the gearbox that I hoped would go away after driving it a while. I don’t really believe cars will “heal” if you want them to, but the noise may have been created by sitting for a long time. You’re right it couldn’t be that simple. Probably being some bearing in the gearbox, I found one at a salvage yard. Needing transportation, I have not been able to find the time to swap the trannys out in one day.
My opportunity came in the form of a 2002 Honda Civic Si that was a little “Ricey”. I bought it right, and planned to fix it up to create a racing budget for this year. While it can be used as a daily driver, the work on the CRX can be done. It had lots of go-fast parts on it and all the lights had been blacked-out. Along with the tinted windows this was too much for a black car with black wheels. I will have a post of this car by itself, but here is the finished car.
