2.8 or 3.2 with a G50?
I picked this up for Mrs.Mini as a present to cheer her up. She was commemorating a milestone birthday( traumatic for her). The paint was oxidized. The oil gauges weren’t working right and the seller probably thought the motor was going bad. It started right up, ran well, and was tight running down the road. It had been in a barn for two years. Interior cleaned up great and the gauge issues were bad grounds. The paint shined right up with a good cleaner and wax and a lot of elbow grease.
Mrs.Mini just sold her car. The new owner is thrilled, and the Mrs. is more …
It's an' 82- has the 3.0 and runs great. Interior is clean and original as well.
No good deed goes unpunished! Had the mechanic @ the local stealer check it out (side job)and compression, oil pressure, valves, filters, etc., were all new, in-spec and/or outstanding. We really lucked out on this because I broke every rule in the book on how -to -buy-a-car. She drove it, said she wet her pants, I made an offer and he took it. Everyone was happy!
Tre' Cool. One day I would like to graduate from Poor man's Porsches (VW and Audi) to an Entry level Porsche (if there is such a thing. ) Nice looking car and great story.
Just returned from a trip to Tenn. and it's proven to be an outstanding driver. This thing rolls down the road nice! Good thing the seats fold down in back because there isn't a lot of luggage room up front. Didn't turn the radio on the whole trip-just groovin' on the sounds. This is one sweet sounding rig at 3500rpm in 5th!
Great story. Sharp car. Those 3.0 motors are super reliable with proper maintenance and some slight modification (carrera tensioners)
Well, with no documentation, I guess it's time for the Carrerra tensioners, if they haven't been done. I just made an appointment for it to get done, because I'm too scared! I just finished an oil change-12 quarts of Mobil 1 V-Twin, filter and o rings- about $150. a small price to pay for the joy this thing brings when driving!
