1990 Other Manco Dingo

I got a old Manco Dingo go kart for my daughter to learn the fine art of driving on. 5 hp brings and stratton engine with a torque converter live rear axle and band brakes. I got it for cheap since it didn’t run. It was pretty simple to get running again, but I ran into two unanticipated problems once it was going. 1) the brake linkage was poorly installed and makes the brake (single band) nearly impossible to actuate. 2) With 21” tires on a live axle it does not turn Fixing the brake linkage is simple, I am a bit more concerned with fixing the turning though. I am considering putting smaller tires on the back and bigger ones on the front.
