Combating heat soak in our VW GTI by upgrading the intercooler

The more laps we completed with our VW GTI, the slower our times would get. Was it the tires? No. Instead, it was heat soak in our engine.

To solve the issue, we installed a beefier intercooler from 034Motorsport.

Hey,

Just track it at the Glen or Lime Rock on cool days. I used to run a 98 Passat back in the day at the Glen. If it was a warm day you could feel the power cut back on the straights on warm days. You definitely need an inter cooler upgrade in Florida.

Oh yes, the intercooler made a big difference–although it would be nice to run Lime Rock or the Glen on a crisp fall day. :)
