I figured I'd let my fellow GRM'ers have a crack at this before I list on Craigslist. 1991 Miata, 146k miles. The body is fair to ok, the paint is similar, and mechanically it is close to excellent. Overall the car runs, shifts, and turns great. A/C is ice cold, heat is hot. I had a new economy top installed about six months ago. The car also passes GA emissions tests. I bought it as a daily driver and autox car, but never made it to a single event with it. It's going to list for $2500 on craigslist after I get it detailed. If anyone here wants it, I'd let it go for $2000 WITHOUT WHEELS OR TIRES; you'd have to bring your own, and I can change them over for you. Or, I do have two sets of wheels and tires available; AZENIS with good tread on 14" NB wheels, and cheepo all-seasons on OE daisy wheels. You can get both sets for $200. THIS CAR IS A BASE MODEL. That means no power steering, no power windows, no headrest speakers. This is the main reason I bought the car. I've had several other Miata's with P/S, and you can definately feel the difference in the engine. I've been using this car as a DD for about six months or so. It's been utterly reliable, but it does have it's issues. Call for more info. Located Woodstock/Roswell ga.

Soon to come. Ad with some pics will be posted on Craigslist shortly. The car looks better in pics than in person though. My internet access is very limited, so calling would get a quicker response. 404-936-1191. Thanks.

Eventually there will be. Or just drop by and look at the thing if you're close. I only have internet access at work, so it's pretty hard to get pics up. I'll try to get some with my phone later. But keep in mind I'm already getting calls from the CL ad, and the pics may not make it up before it sells. Also, no rust anywhere. The known problem areas: I mentioned the a/c idler pulley, and I plan to fix it tomorrow. The battery light stays on while driving. Battery and alternator test good, and it's been this way ever since I got the car, roughtly 5-6 months ago.Rear filler panel is crap. Minor dents r/t door and front part of r/f fender.

Correction: I just went out and took some pics. Posting on CL at the link above. I also have one more showing the whole right side. Yes, two wheels are black and two silver: They came to me this way. I hadn't decided which color I liked better, so I never painted them.

How much did you end up selling it for?

$2000 with street tires but without the Azenis. Got an offer the next day for $2400 with both sets . Still, I'm ok with that. The guy that bought it had just trashed his 911 at a track day. He's stoked about getting the car so he doesn't put the 911 at risk anymore.

Hey Mike, I am very happy with the car. I am looking forward to making it more track ready for next year.

Glad you like it Jerry, and it's good to see you here! Look for Metalman to get parts from, and let me know if you need company at the track. Also, we have that Enduro race at Lanier Speedway on Nov 29th (across the street from Road Atlanta) if you want to come see some redneck racin'

I have already contacted Metalman to see about a rear finish panel. So what kind of car are you racing Mike?

I am going to need to get more funds together to make the car track ready. It will be a little while because things are tight as you know. I do want to get a decent roll bar soon though even for the street.

I THINK I'll be in a Prelude Si, but it's not yet set in stone. I have a Civic EX to build as well, but it won't be ready in time. This is a low-budget touring series I've started. The rules are FWD 4-cyl cars with no racing modifications whatsoever except for safety. There is also a rule that allows ANYONE to "claim" (or purchase) the winning car for $1200 after the race. This is the first race ever for this series, so it will be interesting to see how may cars turn up.

The rules sound a little like the 24hour lemons thing. I have some buddies that did the Lemons race at Kershaw last July with 2 cars. I was invited but couldn't make it. Next year they are going to be taking 4 or 5 cars and I may end up one of the drivers.

Anyway cheap racing is all good!!!

If it isn't as cold on the 29th I may try to swing by up there and check it out.

If your buddies are close, tell them to come race at Lanier if their cars fit the rules!

I think the one car they have that might fit was a VW Golf but it blew up in the Lemons race a few hours in.

Also, if you get enough cars together, I might be looking for a LeMons ride too.

I will keep you in mind. They might very well need more drivers if in fact they get all those cars up. Last year they almost ran out of drivers even after losing 1 of 2 of their cars. Being in a full drivers suit in July heat with no cool suit is tough duty.

I was told I could have driven had I been there because most had enough.

Anyway we will see as it gets closer to time.
