Is it just me, or is this canoe post bizarrely funny in a sense?

Ok, confession time, I completely do not understand the canoe reference. Seems to come up anytime there is a scam type ad, but curiousity is killing me to know what the slang is. What is it and where does it come from?

I believe it's a family guy reference. "The safety word is canoe"

It's a word that's unlikely to come up here for a legitimate reason. Thus, it is easy for admins to find if we tell them there's spam that needs deleting. It also helps to use the warning (exclamation point) button below the post if it is spam, and to email the offending URL to Tom
