I am replacing the motor and transmission in my S10 and am struggling to come up with an FMV, as I want to keep the motor for another project. Various versions of the 4.3 have been available in GM full size pickups for the past several decades and prices are all over the place. Trying to find several comparable TBI 4.3s for sale is a tall order. Here's what I've found:
The cheapest one is $500 but the seller said he'd never heard it run. It does include an automatic transmission. The other two are noticeably higher, but I doubt they will get what they are asking. So I'd like to propose $500 for the engine and transmission, which is also just less than my most frequented you-pull-it yard gets for an engine and transmission.
Up next I have two sets of C5 Wagon wheels and I hope to run 4 rear wheels on my truck. Prices are all over on these, but there are some good deals on FB marketplace.
There's a set of them for $125, a set with tires for $225, and a set that look to be in better shape than mine for $200. I'd like to propose $150 for 4 rear wheels, knowing that I could probably negotiate a little on any of these sets.
Thanks!
I berkeleying hate C5 wagon wheels, but I ran them on the rear of MonZora 2024 because they were so cheap. I think $20 apiece for fronts. I'd accept $30 apiece for rears..
I used car-part.com a lot to establish pricing. Use a consistent methodology for both buying and selling, ie "lowest price within 100 miles of my zip code". Can't use highest price for selling, then turn around and claim lowest price for buying.

They are definitely the ugliest of the C5 wheels, but also the cheapest.
I feel like I have been consistent with the pricing. I am below the price of the cheapest running TBI 4.3 in my area on FB marketplace and I included the transmission, also below the you-pull-it yard's pricing for a motor and transmission. For the wheels I am above the lowest price on marketplace, but taking into consideration that it is 4 rears.
I will check out car-part this evening. Thanks
