I only recently brought this project home, but I found out last night that I'm aquiring a Suzuki Sidekick from my inlaws, and since the Sidekick will probably make a better winter-beater(not to mention the fact we might be moving soon)the Bug needs to go.

Details: 1974 Beetle Standard, 4-spd. Good solid body & heater channels - there's a hole where the battery goes under the rear seat & one on the driver's side rear floorboard, but no other rust or bondo. The driver's seat needs re-covered, but the interior is all there & in decent shape. The bumpers are missing. A tow-bar is included with the car.

The engine was siezed when I bought the car, so I've been slowly dismantling it. So far, I've got the engine out, pulled off the heads & 3 of the jugs, but there's one piston still stuck in the jug that won't break free. The crank isn't rotating either, so the case needs split open to see what's going on inside. On the plus side, it has a brand-new distributor cap & rotor installed. I also have a lead on a complete parts car w/a good engine for $300 that I just haven't had the time or money to bring home yet.

Bug 1

Bug 2

For an additional $500, I have a set of(apparently super-rare)Empi Supersprint wheels. They're rusty & need restored, but they're straight & have all 4-center caps. I've seen restored sets selling for $1200 or higher, which honestly seems ridiculous to me, but whatever.

Supersprint

The car is located in East-Central IL, about 120mi south of Chicago, 90mi west of Indy or 150mi NE of StL. I can haul it within a reasonable distance for the cost of gas.
