My very biased vote is 2-stroke or V4-powered Saab.

I only saw the Durocco once and at least at that time it only had one shifter. He'd made a custom shift knob made out of an enormous stack of various sized fender washers.
Correct.
How about someone take advantage of the "shipping of the challenge car is free to budget." Get on cars from Japan and order something unavailable to us normally.

I think Robbie did some sort of BMW 7 series with a V12. Removed the paint and ran it bare metal

Confirmed! My very first challenge car.
Now, if only the right jag would turn up...

Oh boy. Here we go. You have enough energy stored in your garage to light up a neighborhood for a few days.
Now, we just need a very small lightweight cheap car.
The NHRA rules are probably gonna be the hardest thing about this build.
You son of a bitch, im in!
In reply to wvumtnbkr :
Batteries I can do for FMV of busbars, wiring, fuses, and spacers. NHRA rules seem to indicate that it has to be stock charger?
Ed Fargo lives in White Church Place and does DIY NHRA electric. I think the 3 of us need to have a beer...
In reply to bbbbRASS :
Yes, but I seem to recall it was a hybrid maybe? Guy was from California with a fiero?
In reply to Ranger50 :
Yeah, i remember that Electric S10 hybrid fiero conversion. I'm talking pure EV. You can buy a bricked leaf for cheap!

There was a $600 open top Sonnet with a roll bar on FB Marketplace recently that I was briefly tempted by. Thankfully it sold fairly quickly.

An over budget Tesla has been run. I'm assuming you mean under budget?

That car made it into the hands of Bill Caswell and he was working on some kind of SWB conversion. Not sure what ever came of it.
If you are looking for rare oddities, 80s/90s GM is a gold mine of cars that have not been to the challenge yet:
I'm sure there are many more I am missing.
Maybe a Jag XKE will make it to the next challenge. This one just sold on FB Marketplace for $2k:

- Buick Reatta, bonus if it still has a working touch screen display.
- Olds Toronado Trofeo. I think this one could even be had with a performance suspension package.
- Pontiac Grand Prix Turbo
- Pontiac 6000 AWD
- Chevrolet Celebrity Eurosport VR (not just the regular common Eurosport)
1&2 are basically the same car.
3 is a g-body?
4 I don't recall an AWD version of this FWD model.
5 is still a celebrity and they've turned back into there original form...

3 is NOT a g body and 4 existed.
