Hi All! Taking a change of direction in life and need to thin my substantial herd. So over the next month or so I’ll be taking seeing what the GRM family wants to take off my hands. Some have been purchased from other GRM members as potential challenge projects, and are priced accordingly. Pics are awful, but I’m going to go ahead and put them up just to see if there is any interest. I’ll take more pics in the daytime tomorrow when I get home. Everything is in Tallahassee, FL, where it is going to be a ridiculous 21 deg tonight. Also, willing to talk trade, but you’ve got to take at least two of mine for one of yours (in keeping with the “thinning the herd” theme). Best way to reach me is by phone (850-339-1369, 24/7), but I’ll have internet access when I get home tomorrow afternoon. So…. here we go..

First up is a 1992 Miata. Paint is peeling, rear window torn, driver’s window taken out by the tree branch that used to be 20 feet above it. Not running currently, and I haven’t really dug into it to see what’s up. Solid body though, with no accidents. Good title. $650.

Next up is a rolling shell of a Mini. By rolling I mean it has both subframes, but left rear brake is seized, and one tire doesn’t hold air, so always fun to move around. PO cut the roof off in case someone tall like Donaldson (Hi Mike!) wanted to buzz around in it. I have a serious weakness for these as you will soon see. Anyway, roof is there, as are doors and floors. Title can be had through GA, but you will need a vin plate. Buy or I will stuff a 3.2 Acura CLS motor in the rear and kick ass at the Challenge (j/k, I think) $600.

1973 2002. Starts up with starter fluid, but brakes are totally shot. Mr. Joshua and I actually drove it onto the trailer. Surface rust in spots, but door bottoms are a bit rusty. Towers are good. Go ahead and put an S2000 motor in it. You know you want to. I did. There is glee in screwing with purist. $300. Uh, that hurt. Title through Ga. Photobucket Photobucket Photobucket Photobucket

Ok, brother Paul’s 240Z’s got to go! Other fender, engine, hood, and hatch are all stored indoors, and I’ll send pics of those to all interested. No carbs unless I find some from another project I can throw in. Damn I love the lines of a Z, but I would have loved it better in his garage and not my back yard. Not to worry, we’ll get another when I’m settled in down south. $325 plus a Chic-fil-A sandwich and a coke for everything. Photobucket Photobucket

1992 Acura Legend. Sweet engine, bent suspension in left front. I got new sheetmetal for it. Passenger side has dents in door, like someone with an enormous posterior leaned on it. Drove onto trailer though. A/C is great, nice sounds, comfy. Driver’s seat worse for wear. Common in these. $500 obo. Good title.

Last one until tomorrow is a rolling shell of a GTI. Think it is an ’89. Great for a Challenge at $200. Title through that great state 11 miles north of me, Georgia! I’d use it for the Challenge or rallycross or something where you can really beat the snot out of it with the engine of your choice. Take her away cause she’s blocking my sister’s Mini. Photobucket

Is the yellow Civic going to be up for sale? Not sure I really want it back but curious none the less. The wife said something about it just the other day.

^^^ What he said. The Legend looks tempting, but that yellow '78 (?) looks more tempting.

I JUST left Florida, albeit on the wrong side of the state (though I was west coast as recently as Thursday). Time to see if I can wrangle a pickup and a dolly. Any chance that you would hold the Miata with payment?

Car's are in Tallahassee. Would have been home today to take pics, but got the news yesterday that a friend passed away from Lupus, and the funeral was in Miami today, so that's where I am now. Won't be back home till Wednesday now.

jwdmotorsports, Civic was not up for sale as it is the intended recipient of the aforementioned 3.2 motor , but pm me if you want it back and we will work it out. I'll keep the Mini if it goes.

Sobe_death, If jwd passes on the Civic I'll give you a holla.

Mistanfo, Dork status has its privileges. Will hold with payment and reasonable pickup date. pm me.

Neon4891 Hurry up and file those taxes! It may still be here. Many more cars to come once I get home. Be safe guys!

I've thought about it since you posted yesterday. As much as I would love to I'm going to let you keep it. I would love to see it at the challenge series though.

I'll be watching to see what else you post up for sale.

A real Sunburst Miata for under a grand? Wow. I should scarf that up. Thank goodness I have a shred of common sense that tells me to stay focused on my turbo 280Z project.

I'd appreciate it. I used to have a caged '78 with some STIFF suspension under it and it was a blast. I miss it every day!

Sobe: tell me this will become a challenge car. I know that was the plan of the previous GRM owners and we'd all love to see it there.

You know, I was thinking of using it as a DD, but during the summer months I would be able to do Challenge work to it JWD was it a 1200 or a CVCC?

I really want it, so right now I'm thinking of how I can tow it back (or fly down to work on it and drive it back) since my only car right now is an S2000.

Umm...you could always drive down, take the Civic back, and I'll hold on to the S2000 till you come back and get it say..in a couple of weeks. I Keed, I keed.

The civic is a 1200. I actually talked to the last person to drive the car while I owned it. He seemed to think it jumped time. It's missing the gas tank and looks like it sat in a muddy field for quite a while. I got it from Les. He may be able to give information on where he got it.

Didn't know it was missing the gas tank. Just thought it had carb issues.

Short version of what I peiced together on the car while I had it:

  • The last guy to have it running was using it as a DD and heard a pop pulling into the drive one day. Determined it to have jumped time.

  • Sold it to a teenage relative that messed with a bunch of stuff but never adjusted the timing like he was told to.

  • Teenager sold it to a scrap yard (I guess that's when the gas tank was pulled)

  • Don't know the story between there and when Les got it.

  • Les owned it.

  • I bought it from Les. I never got around to doing anything with it.

  • I sold it to dmidnight and that's where it is now.

If I remember right the last registration (GA) is in the dash. With the registration and a "bill of sale" you should be able to title it pretty easy in any state.

So the real question becomes, do you guys think it would be drivable with a weekend worth of work? I want to put a deposit on it ASAP, but I definitely will need to drive it back. I have a friend who works at Summit Racing so a fuel tank would be no problem, and I'm pretty sure I have my father on board as a teammate now for the $2010 Challenge.

Also, does it have all 4 of those old Honda wheels?

jwdmotorsports
jwdmotorsports HalfDork

It had all 4 of the honda wheels when it left my garage so I sure it still does. Knowing what I sold it to Wayne for the rims are probably worth the purchase price.

I never had it running. Les told me when I bought it that he had it running but it missed under throttle. It's been almost 2 years since Les had it.
