Its going to need heater channels and floors. A hard weekend. Honestly the market has gone so insane on bugs that any early car (covered headlight) is good money right now. There's a $500 convertible up here in NJ in about the same condition, but a later car.
Sent him an email. Haven't heard back

He may be out and about, I'll give him a poke.
He just wrote. He said it needs channels and floors like you said. Do you know how the parcel shelf is? It was bad on the 70. Looks like he's an air cool fan

Yeah, he knows his stuff and he'll be straight with you. He actually has my old short bus (which I kinda want to get back off him) and another bus and I think he just sold his other bug. I haven't seen the car in person myself so I'm afraid I cant answer a lot of questions. I'm really wanting to build a baja right now and I'd hate to tear up an early car for that so Im trying to resist it.
There are some baja projects out there
I left him my phone number
1990's show car?

There isn't much rust to worry about here in the PNW, but that car is...
HEY! He has pink circumcised penis door panel accents . . . lucky E36 M3 ! !
Left another e-mail. Want to see it. Will bring my trailer as I plan on getting it unless there are any surprises.
Damn it. Sold. I really HATE IT when you try reaching a guy only to hear back after a few days with sold. WTF?!
In the VW world it get's worse. I've had more than one guy up and die on me in mid-deal.
Might be true of the hobby in general, a WHOLE lot of elderly gents leaving the hobby feet first and six feet down.
But this is a friend of a GRM member. Not cool.
Agreed ! Not cool at ALL ! ! !

Sorry folks, he's had it for sale for awhile and I guess someone finally bit on it. On behalf of those who have been burned by holding cars for people I don't do it anymore either.
What I'm saying is, he didn't respond for several days, then tells me it's sold. I was ready to go down there with a trailer and had cash but he did not write back and never gave me a phone number, even though I gave him one and I let him know I was a GRM guy. That's why I'm not impressed.

Dont know enough about them to know if this is a good deal or not, but seems so with the amount of parts that are pictured.
Gawd I wish I was closer! The 67 is a magical beast. Earlier body but 12v and some other later goodies. If anyone is close and willing to look for me PLEASE DO!
That one IS a good deal. Pretty much in the condition that you would have to break any car down to in order to build it back up correctly. Extra parts look great, a really nice starting place and year to begin the process/project.
The most sought after year of all the later cars.
I'm still on the hunt. FWIW, I'd prefer something with small bumpers over large (ie pre-68 when it comes to bugs and buses).
Found a nice 64 in NC. Just posted on Samba, already on hold for the probable new owner. This search is a PITA!
