That recent thread got me searching...if I were a little less restrained I would be on my way tonight to pick this up! No clue what easy swaps are out there for it, but for $500 what could go wrong?

John's should be shot for even remotely suggesting that someone replace that incredibly sweet Jag 6 with a boring POS csb.

Given the badge on the back, that incredibly sweet Jaguar 6 has 12 cylinders...
I know, I was responding to Woody's post. The jag 12 is nice too but can be a mess. This late one is supposed to be much less of a headache compared to mid 80s cars.

Even a mild "pos" sbc would wax that I6 ass.
I kinda assumed getting the V12 going after 10 years was gonna be more expensive than an engine swap. Someone should buy it and prove me wrong though!

I guess you don't get cool or understand history. That 6 has 3 LeMans championships and powered the world's fastest road car for many years. It's also a beautiful piece of engineering and makes a glorious sound at speed. The SBC is NONE of those, and is always a bastardization of the swap, whether it be in the front of a jag or the back of a 911.

I understand cool and history, but I'm also not a fanboy like you always come across as being and understand when a swap might make sense. The SBC has been is some legendary applications, is probably the most swapped engine in history for good reason, and is far from boring or a POS. It's amazing how much hate you have for the engine...it really is. The 6 in the road car is FAR from the one in the LeMans winners, but you keep thinking you're a big LeMans champion while you're in your I6 Jag lol. I'm sure you would love my aluminum headed SBC in my 72 FJ40. Now that doesn't mean I'll put an SBC in anything that rolls, like my 87 930, but it made sense in the FJ40 and it would make sense (to me) in a derelict Jag.
