1995 DOHC Neon, Black with metal interior $500.00
Since we can no longer convince my buddy’s sister that having a Black Neon in her backyard increases property value we must sell our beloved challenge car.
The Good.......
-Motor has fresh head. When we purchased the motor it had a broken timing belt. The bent valves were replaced the head was milled and a new timing belt and tensioner was installed. Compression test was good.
-Mickey Thompson 20x6x14 slicks mounted on alum. Rims (slicks have been stored inside in a cool dark place they are still good, not hard)
-Aftermarket header
-Battery relocated to trunk, yes there are cables hooked to the battery
-Speedometer converted to tachometer
-“Custom” exhaust, yes it does exit behind the driver
-“Custom” solid motor mount
-Interior is gutted
-Has 4 stock wheels an tires
-Finished top 15 in autocross and drag race, concourse (see below)
-Many spare parts
-Still has GRM number decals on doors
-Pretty sure it is water tight.
-Anything living in the car is included in the sale
-Its Black so touch up paint is easy to match
-On the autocross course with soft compound tires the inside rear tire comes off the ground about 6 inches
-I am pretty sure we can find the title
The Bad.......
-The battery is dead
-It has not been started in about 3 years (I am reasonably confident it would start if it had a new battery, but bring a trailer, strap, rope or what ever works for you, just in case)
-All the tires are flat but should hold air to get onto a trailer or if you are adventurous to drive home if you bring a battery
-We no longer have the autocross wheels and tires that scored us a top 15
The Ugly........
-I believe we finished almost last in the concourse, but we didn’t even try
-Fiero wheels do fit this car.
With a little TLC this car could be a top 10 overall contender, if you care. If you don’t get it started find some autocross tires and go have FUN!!!!
Car is in Melbourne, FL
PM me if you are interested, or you can call my buddy’s sister at 772-744- just kidding
What would you need location for? He helped you out by NOT giving you the Area Code part of the phone number.
And the icing on the cake? He's "....pretty sure we can find the title".
772 is a Florida area code, and Vero is listed as location on his profile. I just need everyone to calm down.
In reply to evildky:
There must a local tax in Louisville, KY to use the rollover feature on your mouse. Location has now been added to the original post.
In reply to integraguy:
I have the title in hand now, something about panties and wad come to mind...LOL
If its somehow still for sale when the challenge rolls around, and I can arrange transport, I may be interested. Would make a good backup car for my rallyx'er
mphox,
just a few points:
Yes, I will post sarcastic remarks....when they are warranted, this is not the first time.
You may be wherever your profile says you are....your car? Not necessarily.
I live in Fl. but I haven't got all the area codes locked in my memory.
I realize that for a race car, a title may not be important, but for someone to post a for sale ad on a car BEFORE locating the title....well, that's almost some kind of cliche.
So now that you know it's got a title, and is in Florida, you're going to buy it, tag it, and daily drive it, right?
In reply to paranoid_android74:
We do not have any current pics. Close you eyes and imagine a neon, now picture it black... In all sincerity I will see if we can get my buddy's sister to snap a few pics and post them or e-mail them to you.

But actually if you use Firefox it's even easier. Double click on 775, right click, select "search google for 775" and you know where it is.
In reply to mphox:
Wow, there is peace in GRM Challenge land tonight, I am glad everyone got their venting completed. Now we work on getting this car sold.
Anyone want this car? I would hate to see my buddy's sister burn it before we get it sold.
In reply to 4cylndrfury:
Thanks for the bump.
I am sure we can get an auto transporter to ship it to you for less than $1262.00
You'll need to log in to post.
