spectacular condition 4.8 shortblock from an 08 silverado. bores, pistons, gasket surfaces immaculate. no cam, lifters, timing set, oil pump. just assembled block/crank/rods/pistons. build a junkyard turbo monster or a high rpm screamer for a light car?

Was in my truck at 170,000 miles when trans went and took out the crank. So if you are in need of the heads, intake, etc. I have them cheap or trade. Just let me know. They are at my place in Ohio so maybe we could get them with Patgizz's parts.

I'm trying to get the parts headed this way with Adam. He may be getting my 8.1 and taking a Supercharger back for Pat.
Are the 4.8 heads aluminum? If so, I will need them...also the rods from the old engine...do you still have the same number?
The heads are aluminum and good casting number . I do have the rods and pistons (flat top) from the old engine. I also have a manual trans flywheel if that helps your bid as well. I have the old number connected to by house in West Virginia. I will send you my new contact info separately. I am in Houston this week but will be in Ohio next weekend if we want to make some sort of arrangements. I will be back in West Virginia next week if that helps at all.

Okay, here we go. We have four Ohio/York trips in the works:
Adam may be traveling from west Ohio to get our 8.1. He may be able to grab the 4.8 stuff from Pat and Don. And take a Supercharger from here to Pat.
End of May, I am going to western NY to pick up a 51 Studebaker. I could swing through Cleveland to Pat's, drop SC pick-up short block, buzz 77 down to you grab rest of the parts, drop/transfer the 8.1 at one of those places.
Aussie Steve is running to York June 4-6 for the Street Rod Show and we hope to have Vince show some love to the LSR car. And we all know he has enough truck to move this stuff around.
I plan to run to Wilmington in July, but hauling the 8.1 would be a major headache on a race weekend. We keep a ton of junk under the bed cover and it would have to be off/open to haul the BBC.
Anyone else making a parts run?
I'll need to make the trip in the next three weeks, I have to much sedentary crap sitting to have that 2500hd here not moving. Going through Cleveland is cool if all the parts can get there, swinging so far south to come back north is a mess though!

I wanted to post this transaction as it is now dedicated to a future Challenge project. Adam bought our 8.1 and picked it up here in York. Adam picked up the 4.8 from Pat while in route. We gave Pat $100 and an M90 Supercharger for the 4.8. Don offered his damaged 4.8 (bad crank) to us to complete the package. The 4.8 from Don will be transported soon.
And since we're talking about LS engines at the Nelson House....On 3/13, Calvin and I went to the local U-Pull-It. We found and removed a running 5.3, with harness and computer from a Suburban in 1 hour 3 minutes and paid $330 for it. I have a receipt for that one. When sharing the details that I am picking up LS engines with a friend, I was offered another 5.3 with harness and computer for $200. And we picked up a 6.0 short block for $250.
