NMNA, and I'm very glad (and sad at the same time) that this is on the other side of the country.

Hello. I'm hoping to sell this car that is just sitting on my property. I'm not sure if it's a 73 or 74 Mercury Capri 2000. This is the sport edition and a neighbor told me it's a limited car where ford and Fiat collaborated. I do not have w current title but I will issue a bill of sale. The motor turns and is not seized. It is a four speed. The car hasn't been in the system in nearly 20 years nor has it been started in about that long. Interior is in good condition. It will have to be towed off the property. Hoping to get $900 but Any respectable offer an a good attitude will be considered.

I've never seen that filter assembly before. It that an aftermarket piece?
And I've never heard of any Fiat connections before.
Fiat? lol
Thats a 74. 73's had chrome bumpers.
That's factory, my Dad's Capri had one as well.
He painted it Ford blue along with the valve cover. It actually worked with the yellow of the car.
I don't think there was any Fiat connections with the Capri. It's a German Ford, designed by comittee and using off the shelf Ford of Europe drivetrain parts (Kent motor, etc).
Poor thing should be rescued though, they are great cars.

My '77 Had the more classic round air cleaner.
Definitely a 74. Maybe a 2800
People should be wary of "knowledgeable" neighbors...
...and I was within a few miles of this about a month ago. (SO glad it wasn't listed then).
I think Ghia is what he was looking for, designed by Ghia.
I would totally buy that if I was local.
It's a 1974 as mentioned above, with rubber covered bumpers. Not Fiat related, not Ghia (only some MkII state-side were Ghia), not GT (Europe only). Decor Group, yes. If that is an original paint color, that is rare. If rust free, it would be a good find. It looks like it might clean up pretty well. Dash doesn't looked cracked, which is typical.
For the most part I agree with the above but the trunk lid is showing signs of rust through along the bottom edge. I've seen that happen to many Midwest Capris but I guess it takes longer out in sunny California. If I had a place to park it I might consider this as it's a Capri I, a manual, and being only a 4 cyl ripe for an engine swap. Fords 5.0L & T5 trans fit nicely and can raise the HP 4-5 times stock without trying hard. Add aluminum heads and the F/R weight balance stays reasonable.
