NMNA, somebody should jump on this http://detroit.craigslist.org/okl/cto/4577504820.html
I can't even remember how many rust belt CRX's I've seen that looked like that but were totally destroyed by rust. Plastic covers over the structural components will hide a lot. These cars rust from the inside out. It might be a good car, but based on the location and price I highly doubt it, and you certainly can't tell by that one picture.

No doubt. The panhard bar mount might be ready to straight break off and you'd never know without getting under the car and looking. However, 1g's are getting pretty scarce and the lack of rust on the quarters is a good sign.

Whats the difference between the civic si and the crx si? is it just a preference?
Ive heard that the torque steer on a good running one of those can break a wrist stock is that true?

One has a back seat, one doesn't.
Civic Si:
CRX Si:

Pretty sure they're mechanically identical. Civic has a slightly longer wheelbase IIRC. I'd take either one in a heartbeat.
Looks like the specs for the 1986 US Hondas were:
CRX Si/ Civic Si
Curb weight 1953 Lb./ 1944 lbs.
Drag Coef: 0.32/ 0.36
Wheelbase 86.6"/ 93.7"
Displacement, power and torque identical
Final drive 4:40/ 4:27
0-60 8.5/ 10.1
1/4 mile 16.7/ 17.5
Top speed 115/ 111
Plus, the obvious higher center of gravity on the Civic.
I'd say the drivetrains are identical, but the performance is clearly not.
2 seconds quicker off the line is certainly impressive.
Gotta love better gearing! I just want a 1st gen Civic Si to drop a slobbery, cammed and carb'd, N/A F23 into and just blast around everywhere. No interior, race tires, cage, hardcore street car. That's my dream Honda.
I thought that was strange too.
It's Googledata. I've never weighed one, so take it with a grain of salt.
But I would be interested in the truth, out of curiosity. Seems impossible.

The description claims its spent all its winters in either California or a garage.
