Looking for some tires to get some track time in this summer on my super low budget VW Rabbit.
Hoping to find someone who needs fresh rubber for actual racing, so I can put some miles on their old tires for random track days.
I have lots of 13" and 14" wheels laying around, just need some tires on the cheap to get a couple track days in this year before our next baby is born in July...
Any leads are also appreciated. R888's, Hoosiers, R1A's, Azenis, V710's, whatever, not picky so long as I can make them fit.
Is there still a spec class running 13" or 14" tires that I should look at for sourcing tires?
Legends car run a 13" federal, last time I was at a track that ran legends there was a pile of them there. They are also less than $100 new.
interesting. I'd think Legends cars would run something too wide for my VW though.

Spec Miata and Spec E30 at one time used 14" Toyos. They've since been discontinued. They are pretty useless to racers at this point because they are too old and getting stiff.

That's exactly what I'm after, just not sure the best way to find people who might have them sitting around.

Standard short track mini stock tire is a 13 x 8 Hoosier or a Goodyear short track special. Just go to your local track and ask.
bumping this up one more time. It's warm out and my Rabbit wants to play.
I may head down to the VSCDA day at Gingerman tomorrow and see if I can scrounge up any take-offs.
