Here's some boring backstory you can skip if you'd like. A few weeks back I set out on a cross-country move. I sold almost everything I owned and headed west. Well things went pear shaped fast. The job i had lined up wasn't there. The car I had lined up fell through. My car didn't sell and is still in Orlando. And the move cost way more than I'd anticipated. Bottom line I hit the ground with about $500. $2000 less than expected. I've got a full time job I start on the 13th of next month, but I don't have a car.

I'm looking for a running, drivable car that I can use to get to work in a few weeks. My budget is a pitiful $500 but I do have a tactical competitive carbine system (worth around $1500) I'd be willing to trade.
I'm looking primarily for a volvo 240, or a 3800 powered GM. Minivans are ok. Subarus are about the only Japanese car I'll consider. Saabs are awesome, but i know less than nothing about them.
