I'll concede living in it (assuming the frames aren't broken and it doesn't need to be gutted) but you definitely do not want to burn that wood, lead paint galore. Though I suppose if it's in good enough to float condition you usually do get enough electricity included with the slip to not freeze to death with electric heaters.

But anyone's view of "value" would change after the amount of fiberglass work that thing has needed.

It's hard to tell how much work that needs, but if you say the free one was worse, maybe you overpaid.
