I used to travel to the UK for Business fairly regularly. I always got a rental car so I could drive up to Scotland on the weekend. Rule for dealing with RHD cars. Always carry a back pack. If you walk to the wrong side of the car, set the back pack in the seat, close the door and calmly walk around to the "drivers" side and get in! And for driving, keep your butt near the centerline. Keeps the car on the correct side of the road.

To each his own, but I dont see the appeal of RHD...once the novelty wears off, youre just sitting in a car with the shifter on the wrong side, and youll have to walk around the car twice because youll try to get into the "passenger side" every time you walk out to it. Since the drivetrain and the front end would both be aftermarket this thing is going to be a surgical patient. If it were a survivor or complete, I might feel differently, but as is, I wouldnt at all feel bad about swapping a LHD interior into it a few days after the modern V8 was installed.

I drove a RHD mini for 10 years. I drove it a lot. The novelty of RHD didn't wear off, it made the car more cool. If I were to get another mini, it'd be RHD. The only issue was that, while sitting in a left turn lane, you can't see oncoming traffic since you're on the right side of the lane you're in.
The shifting was never an issue either.

I would be tempted to get a skyline, the only problem is, then you'll be a skyline owner. NEVER has a group of owners been soo annoying. Every sentence is started like this: "You know why the skyline is soo cool?", "Yeah, buy my skyline..." or "you should get a skyline because..."
I've unfriended skyline owners on Facebook because I just couldn't take it anymore.
