I'm still trying to figure out the suspension - is that a VW front axle turned around backwards?
Large lateral arms with trailing links appears to be the design on the front suspension. The lower looks to be some FWD stock type part. That could either be a lot of good parts for the money or a pile of frustration. Seems worth a look it could make a decent enough autox car for someone.
Against my better judgement, I contacted the seller. He bought it as a project & does't know much about it, and said the same of the person he bought it from. He did say it's chain-drive to a sprocket, but has separate CV shafts. It has 4-wheel disc brakes, but they all need rebuilt/replaced. The current engine on it is a "1200" (but no further details) and isn't locked up, though it is missing wiring. The other engine is a '96 Vulcan 800 that runs good, but the carb floods when it sits.
I might take a look at it this week, if it hasn't sold, and report back. It doesn't look very comfortable to sleep in, so not much chance of me dragging it home though.

shocks mounted in single sheer are always a good idea....

Yeah, there are a whole lot of Really Bad Ideas going on currently, but I blew up the pics and the tig welds look professionally done - the frame looks like it could even be aluminum.

I mounted a set of shocks to the front of an RX-7 in single shear because the struts were blown badly, just drilled a hole in the control arm and welded a piece of angle iron to the strut tower. Never an issue. It did start to crack the strut tower, so I welded some stuff over in the engine bay side for strength.
That is how the bottom of the struts are mounted on the rear of an FC RX7.
Just because it CAN work, doesn't mean it should be done that way.
but, whatever.
it reminds me of this that showed up at our last autocross, I know absolutely nothing about it, but appears equally safe xD
