Hi there, I just got a great new E36 track rat with non-M bumpers. Sadly, there are very few "off the shelf" splitter or lip options unless you switch to M bumpers.
However, I've seen a number of built E36s sporting what appears to be a very robust splitter setup that also looks DIY (no offense if it's anyone here's car!).
How are these types of setups built? Every time I try to Google it, I get a bunch of Youtube kids trying to put 2 inches of black foam edging on their mom's Camry.
Thank you!
The answer is almost always some plywood and some hdpe(?) plastic (look for rolls of it from race supply places), maybe some garden edging on the splitter to give the air dam something to sit against. Professional Awesome makes some nice (generic) mounting options.
Really you can look at any car and just adopt to fit. There's plenty of Miata howto's, you just have to figure out the shape and mounting options.
