Gah, that thing is pretty. I think I'll feel bad to bring the dirtbag Accord over with that thing around.

It looks so sad. Sabine is sad. All the middle gauges are laying on the left. I bet she would be happier if they were straight up and down.

2900lbs?! Did you weigh it? The 996TT is typically listed closer to 3300 and the C2s are usually listed around 2900.
That's a nice purchase, lower price than the 993tt but better car overall. I dislike the aftermarket wheel choice, though, The center section looks bland and the lips are the "inverted" barrels (i.e. flat lip without any dish to them, vs dished wheels like Fuchs, etc).

Yeah my newbie search led me astray, it is 3300lb.
The wheels though are my choice, I love 5 spoked dished rims

I prefer the 993TT, but my budget prefers the 996TT, 993 prices have gone wild.
After much longer than expected the car finally came back from RS1, it was shipped Tuesday to be at Road Atlanta Friday, the shipper screwed around and we didn't get until Sunday afternoon, dirty and with a dead battery.
We did manage to start it, which is more involved than a regular car, drove it into town, swapped a new battery in and washed the outside.
Got back and did 2 quick runs at the skid pad challenge, my best was 1.339 Gs, not bad in a car with a changed suspension and clutch and zero prep time.
Then loaded it up for a trip which went badly.
As in Sampson ate an engine. Luckily for once I had a car that could be street driven on the back.
It is taking me a minute to get used to the lightened flywheel, race clutch, combination, I have stalled the car a few times, it is interesting to say the least. So quick to rev, with a button style engagement makes it so sharp at the point of engagement.
The extra power (ECU and intake) and the suspension updates (coilovers, corner weighting) are amazingly good, what was fantastic before is downright brilliant now.
We installed an aftermarket exhaust I picked up from a Texas enthusiast, we then had some starting issues, went through everything we could think of until we decided to check the fuses, D'oh.
This car is a weapon, breaks traction in second as boost comes on, tries to go sideways at 100 mph, yeah in second, with AWD and Sport Cup tires.
I kinda hate that generation of the 911, but now I kinda think I need one...
The fugly-assed headlights not being visible while driving probably helps the driving experience, I imagine?
Trust me Will, when your foot is firmly planted on the carpet, the last thing you are thinking about is the headlights.
Aussie was kind enough to let my cousin and I take this little baby for a spin at Adrian's Dream Cruise party. Words cannot describe the sheer violence of the acceleration. It's like nothing I've ever experienced. I couldn't stop giggling when I was driving it. It's not a car, it's a tactical acceleration device. It feels like it should be registered with the authorities. It's berkeleying incredible.

Reminds me of what I had written in another thread.

I met Aussie Steve for lunch and for desert he let me drive his Porsche Turbo.
Rumors of 125 mph.
I turned off onto a small, long county road. So chosen because the State Troopers don't patrol roads this small.
Would you believe that I get the car "up to speed" and I'll be damned, there's a Trooper Cruiser in the driveway of one of the few houses.
In Ohio, the Troopers take their cars home. No issue!
The phrase of the day was just how much that car lures you into criminal activities.
that looks like a bag, not a tire???
wish I could link my video from this weekend. Chased a modern 911 turbo S cab up the mtn... kept up with it too in my mustank.
In reply to Tom_Spangler: "It's not a car, it's a tactical acceleration device." I am stealing this phrase and calling it mine.

It's all yours. The least I can do for you letting me loose in your baby.

So my first choice of Yoko A048s was out as Tire rack only had 3, so I have gone with the Toyo 888s, driving on them now, at Road speeds they feel great, very direct and sticky, so far, so good

I ordered a GT3 wing from a German company and then after they repeatedly made excuses I made a Paypal claim, the seller stated it was sent out in June, seeing as I ordered and paid for it in September this was a cause for concern. Paypal investigated it and today they announce they found in my favor and are returning my cash. Which is not a small sum at 1280Euros.
Score one for Paypal.
