Latest update from the Pig's life . Working on the perfect gap and finishing touches . making templates so I can use them on the other side make the process a little faster . Finishing welds . I don't want almost any filler on the body when I'm done .

Dayum. Flares are teh secksy. 

That is some amazing metalwork. 

Back on it . More metal work . Rear door is 98% done , Fender mostly welded in . Took some sweet time to TIG it in . There is almost no warpage. Suoer happy the way it looks . I didn't weld in rear section. That rear trunk pocket is basically gone . I have another car that I will cut out complete section and  weld it in . Little time saving on fabrication .  Now tricky part trying to come exact fender to the other side. 

I got driver seat mounted in as well .

With the last post being over 3 years ago I wonder where and how this car ended up? I've skimmed this article a couple of times and see nothing regarding fuel management for the M119- what will be or is running the engine?

His last post was at the end of July, so around 1 1/2 months ago.  It's still an ongoing project.

How on Earth have I missed this?!

I've been dying to throw a manual into my '84 500SE, but I've also toyed with the idea of a domestic motor swap. The M119 has crossed my mind a lot, but then I remember I still need to engineer a solution for adapting a manual to it.

I wish Photobucket didn't do what they did so I can really study the details of your first few photos. I'm reaching the tipping point with my temperamental 722.xxx oatmeal box and I feel any money spent on rebuilding it, or replacing it with another is money I could have spent toward making the car how I really want it.

Growing up overseas, I got to drive a '82 (or so, I don't recall) 280S with a carb'd M110 with a 4-speed manual, and a 140-chassis 300SE with a 5-speed manual, and both cars just felt right with a stick shift!

Glad to see this project, and it certainly adds additional motivation for me to get something done on my 500.

I was just thinking about this thread last night. Sigh...

I want my big benz to be fast too. Can't wait for more updates.

There are other good ones like snapfish that are the same free service but much easier to deal with.

Free services will eventually all come back to bite you. Remember, if it's free then you're not the customer - you're the product. Pony up for some server space if it matters.

$8/month will get you 50GB and a domain name at Bluehost, and you'll be able to pick up that data and move it anywhere else you want. Since you own the domain, the links don't go dead. $11/month will get you unlimited storage.

If it doesn't matter, then just accept that you'll lose access eventually.

Oh, definitely looking forward to updates.

I need to do the same with hosting my photos myself as I already pay for hosting with web development I do. Flickr is trying to get money so I'm going to do that soon.

Posting them directly works great.  Just click on the little picture icon.

Imgur seems pretty reliable as an image hosting service.
