Long story short, I bought this car for $250:

I'll be posting about its progress here. Stay tuned as I decide just what the heck I'm going to do with this thing.
Okay, pulled it off the trailer this morning. I won't have a chance to mess with it until this weekend, but here are some daylight photos:
What wheels should I put on it? Because these don't fit well at all.
Hmmmm

I think some euro headlights will really lift the dated looks of that front end.
Those wheels will look good on your wagon. So will the CLK lightweight wheels
That interior looks pretty decent.

Those monoblocks will probably look decent.
I really like this car, and I think it looks great with the wheels that are on it. I don't love the monoblocks, but I'd probably grab them for $400, especially if they're local.
That car really needs AMG Pentas or Ronal R9s though...
Euro headlights, airbags, and some monoblocks. Bonus points for hammers or hammer reps.
I have some R9's that need refurbishing 15x7 +35
In reply to yupididit:
Do you have center caps for them?
And no, I believe they are US bumpers.
Yes, Mercedes center caps.
I'm not sure on the price. I think they should be redone at a wheel place. I've been meaning to drop them off at this place in LA.
I don't know what they go for. I bought them on a whim and will have to run spacers to use them in my Benz.
Tom where are you located?
I've shipped bare wheels, two to a box, across the country for something like $28 per box.
IIRC the AMG 5-spoke wheels from the 1980's were R9s. A friend's father had a set stored in his basement that I wanted to put on my Gutless Supreme.
R9 looked good on a Hammer back then. I'm sure they will today as well.
$28 a box is very reasonable.
I assume wheel size is the price factor.

I would ship a 16x7 and a 16x8 in each box, usually with UPS. I have recently discovered that I can ship just about anything cheapest with USPS. I would suggest looking into that.
If you're concerned about a clumsy mailman or the boxes getting stolen from the doorstep, you can send them "General Delivery" in care of the town's post office and the buyer has to pick them up there. I don't think it saves you any money, but it eliminates one step in handling.
Holy crap! A quick CL search shows that you can find tons of 300Es at sub-Challenge prices.

Mono's are good, now if you can get those wicked amg fans like.off the 190e floating around here with the s/c 1uz- get those. Those make me happy in my nono place.

Also, get that damm thing out.of the stratosphere. I'm not saying it needs to lay rocker, but you got like 3 inches you can lose.
