So i bought my brother a weapon R intake for his birthday, the instructions are kinda E36 M3ty... and I am unsure of which hose gets hooked up to the intake tube, the one from the valve cover or the one from the air filter housing? (it only has one nipple for attaching a hose) ...

Probably the one from the valve cover, wouldn't the air filter housing be removed with the new intake?

PS, most of these "cold air intakes" just suck in hot air and filter worse than the stock intake costing power and engine life.

Weapon r. Camry. Gimme a sec.

OK. So I grabbed a PDF of the instructions and you need to replace the hose that goes from the factory pcv system to the intake, with a new hose that goes from the pcv system to the new intake. I'm on my phone and away from any of my zz Toyotas and manuals so I can't really tell you where the pcv system is on the engine side. But if there was a hose going from the engine to the factory intake, that no longer has a home, find where it started and chances are that's your amswer.

Okay sweet, so will hook up the hose to the valve covers nipple, more than likely the pcv valve - hopefully, then entire air box system is removed but what do i do with the air resovoir/ engine quiter ? and what do i do with the hose that was connected to the air box itself

i feel like you might be on the wrong forum but all of the old air filter/hose/air box components get removed. i'd save them to put back on later.

Oh he definitely is with this one. BUT- I'm playing nice. Since we've all done bad stuff to good cars before, and ya gotta start somewhere.

To answer the second question, that depends. If your brother ever intends on selling the car down the road, keep the factory stuff. No normal Camry shopper is going to want an intake like that on the car. If he's a Camry lifer (hey, we got Yugo fans here, and I hoard FWD Corollas, so I ain't judgin') you could toss it in the bin or put it on the shelf or whatever. The hose itself, toss. You don't need a 20 year old bit of rubber hose- you can go down to PepZone and get a new one of those for like two bucks if you need to replace it.

Whats an air reservoir/ engine quitter? My best bet is the intake resonator? All the stock intake parts will be removed. You may have done this before but look up google images of a camery with a cold air intake and you should have an ah ha moment

Yeah, he's talking about the airbox and the resonator.
