I believe he was looking for a 911 initially.

But I would also like to hear the story behind the change of direction.

This time a year ago I was set to buy a 911.  I started a thread on here asking questions about 996 vs 997, etc.  I drove several of them...and then the job just didn't go as planned.  I ended up leaving my old company when I found a better place to sell stuff- so back to slinging software and my bank account is much happier.

That was one thing, the other was that when my Sequoia was totaled I was planning on a hybrid sedan.  I looked at Camry Hybrids, Fusion Hybrids and Accord Hybrids.  Someone suggested a cayenne hybrid and asked why I wouldn't look there- and price was the answer...but I had always liked them.

Fast forward to this month and the new job is going great and I started to play around on rennlist and autotempest.  I started looking at my use case and the newer e-hybrid cayennne's and figured I could probably get some great economy out of one all while actually enjoying the car I drive and not getting stuck in an econobox.  I know it's dramatic, but I was getting pretty bummed out about buying my dd and it being a hybrid appliance sedan.

So I started looking at these and decided that I could probably swing one.  This one was over my budget by about 2 grand....but it has every available option, amazing wheels and I love the exterior/interior.

Spent the weekend driving the car around and today was it's first day of normal duty. So far I'm averaging 25mpg, and not driving the car carefully- that's a pretty huge step up from the 15mpg that the sequioa averaged.

The other major item is that I don't have the charger yet- the dealer is obligated to overnight it to me so it should arrive this week while I'm on a road trip.  The charger does sort of matter on these things- you get 14 miles of electric in the morning and you get access to 95hp from the electric motor on demand...me like.  So I'm looking forward to my next full tank of gas and seeing what normal life with this thing is going to look like- I'm hoping for 750 miles a tank (20 gallons) but we'll see.

Question on wheel rash.

There is some significant curb rash on two of these wheels- and I've never had wheels repaired.  Any advice from the hive?
