The white '01 Boxster accumulated a lot of minor issues and annoyances while I was too busy with other things. I sold it a couple weeks ago for a bargain price and clearly stating that although it ran and drove well, it needed some attention. Before selling it, I took off the convertible top that the glass window had come out of and swapped on a nice top with a plastic window.

I took the top and glass window to my Auto Glass guy to see if he can fix it. He can, but he wants the top installed in a car when he works on it, so that it is in the fully stretched position. I have a black 2000 model that needs a lot of work and hasn't run since I bought it in September. My bright idea was to get it running and tagged, then put the top on that car. The car was running rough and mis-firing when I bought it. I though it was coils or MAF sensor. I worked on it for an afternoon, then set it aside. After sitting for over six months it would crank, but not fire at all.
This car:

Basic troubleshooting led to a fuel problem. Sure enough the fuel pump and sender were bad:

...and the fuel filter was clogged,

...and the injectors were not injecting.

With all of those replaced, it finally fired up and ran last night. Now that it runs, I can take care of the more minor things, like going through the coils and plugs, fixing the cooling system, and getting the headlights to work. The plan is to have a streetable car to drive to the glass shop next week.
That black Boxster ran surprisingly well this morning when I drove it to the glass shop to have the rear window put in. There's a long list of to-do stuff to make it a good car, but it's registered and Oklahoma street legal now.
I was (maybe am still) wanting to have someone in the Dallas area check this out for me:

Today I pushed my 914 around the driveway to make a better space for the red '99 Boxster to be near the garage, then thought I should get the spare Fiero engine that's sitting on a subframe near the front of the garage cleaned up and installed in the Milburn car -which my Tag Agency (DMV) said I can register for the street since I have a clear TX title, but there's a Gambler event this weekend and the windows still don't work in the Xbox so I'm taking the Prius which has an ABS fault now that won't reset without Techstream and an SRS fault that says the airbags were triggered which makes me glad that the clockspring wasn't good during the last Gambler I took it on -My plan is to Send It and not be sad if I kill it now, then pull the good parts and start again with one of the other three (really two) Prii I still have, there's a lot of engines in my garage and three motorcycles, but the project bike is covered on the back patio not far from the '81 Scirocco ...so I probably should pass on the BMW for now.
I spent the rest of the afternoon mowing the lawn and working in the garden.
Yesterday Brad was homeless and likely to get shot. Today he helped me do the spark plugs in the F150.

He's been cleaned up, treated for parasites, stitched up where he was torn, and neutered today. I plan to bring him with me and my son in law to the SW-AR Gambler this weekend if he's healed up enough. Scarred from his face to the broken tip of his tail, he could tell some stories. I think he's going to be a good road trip buddy.
