4L65E and a NP149 from a SS Silverado or 4L70E and whatever transfercase a SS Trailblazer or Saab 9-7x uses, NP126 maybe?
What did the awd Holden Monaro use? Wasn’t there one, or at I mis-remembering? Anyway, Australia might be a source for other pieces you’d need for the conversion.
What does the front suspension look like one those? How much needs to be changed on the front of the car? It seems like it would be a huge project to turn a rear drive car into an all wheel drive car.
Not sure what the factory solution was for the Monaro Coupe4 and Commodore Adventra , but I'm thinking 4wd 4L80E truck trans and either a Trailblazer SS transfer case or 4472 from an early Bravada or AWD Astro. Expect to have to hack the floor to make room for things. Front driveshaft goes to the driver side so don't be surprised if you have to move your pedals over. I don't have a good answer for your front diff, spindles, sub frame and oil pan.
EDIT: This might have some useful info in it.
Looks like a 4L60E, but that' definitely a unique transfer case, way smaller than either of the options I suggested.
Oh it will be alot of work but totally worth it all when it's a 1200hp awd street eating machine. I'll have to look into the awd Holden I don't know if iv seen one but I will definitely post pics and updates as I go thanks for all the ideas and suggestions I will look into them all to see what's phesable and not going to dig out the bank to much.
It's been done. There is a guy on a forum call Commodores Plus by the name of IJ. He has done quite a few AWD conversions now. In Australia we got a car called the Adventura which was basically a Holden AWD wagon.
So how much money you have, I am good with this Idea, but 1200 hp will cost 10 dollars or more per HORSE. then upgrading parts designed fo 400 hp to take 1200 will cost another like amount, then fabing it up.
I can't fathom doing this to a GTO.
put it on a 4wd truck frame and be done.
Looks like the Holden used a 4L60.
Holden Adventra: AWD system revealed
Here's a transfer case. But it's for a V6.
Honestly you're just making me want to roll my own Syclone again. I think this is exactly why I got rid of my spare 4472.

Grassroots this definitely IS NOT.
If you have the capability for it though, I’m sure we’ll back you 100%

I was looking at these transmissions I found a few for around 1k just trying to what all.i.will have to do for the swap. Down side is there almost all automatic
In reply to Agent98 :
Challengers are super gay. There everywhere just like mustang's. Gtos are not that common really and it would be way sicker of an awd. I don't like the popular cars co cameros challengers chargers mustang's any srt it's just poop
i agree with Daylan C that a 4l80 and 4472 transfercase is a solid awd driveline choice. as for a front diff/suspension to make it work maybe look into a s10/blazer front diff, they make swap LS oil pans that fit around them. Or another option to look at would be trailblazer/envoy front diff which goes through the oil pan. either way the front diff setup is going to be the hardest part of the conversion.
It also sounds like you might be only wanting a manual trans vs. an automatic. Not sure about some of the other transfercases but I've read the 4472 case does not like the shock load of manual transmissions.

Lol I'm going to counter the weight alot of the trunk is getting cut out and rubbed seats are getting swapped rear seat delete etc etc.
A gutted Trailblazer SS is the easy button for what I think you are trying to accomplish here.
Not really understanding the point of adding AWD to a GTO. Does it not understeer enough, it's not slow or heavy enough? Just trying to see where your head is at. This is coming from the guy that's turning an early 90's minitruck into an early 90's Corvette after all.
I honestly am picturing this thing gutted with slicks on all 4 corners launching like a DSM. You said you didn't want an auto trans though.
In reply to Daylan C :
Exactly this gto is getting built for a street machine so I can take it around Texas to do some roll racing. Its going to be gutted and motor built to a minimum of 1200hp plus a 120shot. I'm going to go auto once she's built.
