Definitely a great use of an art school degree.
Yes you've stripped out alot, but what has all this 'tubing' added weight wise..in the name of safety?
In reply to 759NRNG (Forum Partidario) :
It's probably a hundred-something lbs added, and not sure how much removed in terms of interior components. When it's done I'll weigh it again, was 2700lbs(ish) with the full interior.
That's a lovely piece of work, and a far cry from the last cage I installed 20 years ago...(6 point bolt-in!)

Emboldening has never been the problem, rules compliance sure can be though.
With the hood off it looks like the body was reshaped in order to clear the extended strut towers.
Now, I know that the towers were extended a rules limited amount, but man that is one happy coincidence!
I just realized that it's the same color as the GT86 at the very end of Initial D.

I'll be curious. Mine is currently sitting at 2815 with full fuel, spares, gear, etc. I suspect you'll end up lighter, even though you started out heavier.
A little welding for things that I know need tabs:
A little trimming on the dash and heat gun work on the ducting while we can see everything:
And a LOT of masking for what Ian just asked about:
One coat down:
If anyone wants to live that Adam Brock life, get really good at painting roll cages, equip a van, and trail behind him by a few days. Nobody wants to do this.

Looks really good.
What's your paint of choice there? Just a rustoleum? Are you spraying or rolling?
Also, is that spare tire holder just an expired harness? If so that's a pretty clever reuse!
In reply to TVR Scott (Forum Supporter) :
Rustoleum high performance- a favorite based on past experience since it sticks to almost everything. I got the impossible little spots with a foam brush before spraying the rest, and will probably do some more foam brush touchups later. Might even take a roller to the floor if I'm feeling like it.
You've spotted the 20yr expired harness correctly, makes for a nice quick-release and it's highly adjustable for different tires.
