I'm glad I don't have a thread documenting the stupidity I get into. Boy, would that be a thread of many pages with the reader saying "how stupid could this guy be?".

removing the dead and dying pines, very sad about the trees. Losing lots of evergreens in the area to insects. I'm taking down 9 and burning them immediately hopefully killing any insects and preventing them from spreading to my other pines
They call me patrick, collector of Devins

Avalon has snow tires now(thanks Andy!)
Corvette is going away next week
In reply to Patrick :
I once ran a '97 Buick Lesabre on Firestone Winterforces. It was probably the winter of 2013. It was a very snowy year. That combination was a snow-beast. Heavy fwd for weight over drive wheels and tons of bite. The car falsely gave the confidence that you could drive the car through snowy fields.
I'm sure the Avalon too will be excellent.

Oh crap... should I have been paying more attention to this thread?!
Everyone should, tbh, including myself. I need to stay accountable to myself and posting updates helps me do that. some recent events that shall remain private soured me on the forum experience for a while. Not the community as a whole or the wonderful people that run it but the behavior of a small portion of said community.
It's never been mounted or built and it's in amazing shape. I've never seen one that hasn't been at least partially assembled or stuck on some chassis before
In reply to Patrick :
IDK your vision or timing for that, but I'd definitely post it up for a quick flip. if you make a nice multiple, that could advance the projects already in house.
....but , if you have your heart set on having a vintage Devin, then hold onto it. One day you may be too old , or infirm and you'll regret having sold it. Enjoy it while you can.
After sleeping on it, I don't really wish to own either Devin for the long haul. I do want to restore the Panhard and enjoy it for a year or two before rehoming it. The most important thing right now is correctly identifying which body this is, proceed slowly from there and not make any quick or regrettable decisions.
A perfect body for a 1.4t Cruze engine, an adapter plate and a WRX transmission along with redrilled hubs to 4x100mm to match the NA Miata sourced front suspension!
I am glad I am no allowed to get it!
Wow, that's a pretty impressive catch!!
So as I was catching up on GRM, this was on in the background:

I'm picturing you showing up on Leno next year with a Devin version of this McMinn special...
Kreg from devinspecial.com ID'd it as a 295 body with optional molded in seat pan, so it is a tick smaller than the SS but very much looks the same. I knew if I sent him pics he would probably nail it. Now I have zero idea what a never used body is worth. If it were an SS there is at least one comp. He also sent me the sizing chart so once I mock it up and measure I can ID the exact one.
Part of me wants to submit it to BAT and put a solid reserve on it. The other part of me wants to look at it for a while.
Put a roof rack and basket on the avalon to make it more useful. Have put over 1500 miles on it. Just a "universal" (which we all know means fits nothing well that absolutely would not work on my old wrx) kit from ebay that's been collecting dust for years and a basket that was bought at the same time but never used because the rack didn't fit. Well, that E36 M3 has a home now.
also scored a new $10 hitch to make a front receiver for the truck because the one they make costs too much.
It cleaned up nice.
I have no idea where to start pricing because this thing is immaculate. It could have been pulled from the molds last week it's so good
I was looking for a picture of a kit car I saw today and came across this.

I do not know if this is the same year or not.
In reply to MyMiatas :
Thanks! I ran across that one too. That is an SS body, they're very similar looking though.
i have determined with a chart from Kreg at the Devin Registry that this is a 295 B body. Here's the chart
I've been told it was rare for 295 bodies to be ordered with the optional cockpit that mine has.
the lines and curves are amazing and I would love to build it, but I believe my part in the story of this car is to rescue(done) and rehome it for funding to restore my Devin Panhard. I can't build them all, and I don't want to be building constantly. I have a couple more to finish and two lined up for after that, but I need to slow down and enjoy the ride. I put 2 major projects on the road last year and that's huge for anyone to accomplish. It's time to run them and work the bugs out so they're reliable turn key toys. Plus I'll have my hands full coordinating build weekends for Warren's Corolla.
nah I'm just going to list it as it sits. $370 in 1958 is $3867 today and tbh I am thinking that might not be enough. I am debating putting it in the truck and taking it somewhere neat to take pictures and submitting to BAT with a starting price of 5k. TBH I am slightly emotionally invested in the car and want to see it built and appreciated, but if some rich dick wavers got into a bidding war over something they just want to stare at, I'd be ok with that too. Money can fix some sads when it comes to selling vehicles.
