Picking this whole deal up is why I was down in Indy. I got a late start and Indy guy was very nice and invited me to crash on his couch. In the morning I got to enjoy a delightful breakfast with his whole family before making the journey back to Chicago.
Brian - thank you. And your tr4 is awesome.
Note: I did not purchase this stuff from Indy guy.

This thread may have been my lead on the f440:

So now, including driving but not including sleeping, I'm about 23 hours into this build.
Oh dang! What option # is this? Whichever one it is the right one in my book. Nice.
Datsun body dropped on an F440 chassis with motorcycle engines? Please please please

Formula - Datsun?

Oh it's a good thing I finished chewing before I read that

Too good! Definitely need someone to make you some custom vinyl decals for that.
There's no way the Datsun is anywhere near the same dimensions as the F440... right? Are you going to chop and section it down until it fits?

Width is spot on. In fact the f440 is about 2-3 inches WIDER at the rear axle as the datsun. But will still fit under the body no issue.
Datsun wheelbase is 9 inches longer than a regular f440, and 6ish inches longer than this f440 is currently.
I plan to add length to the f440 chassis to fit the datsun body.
Datsun stock tire diameter is 22.4, these f440 tires are 19.5.
All right,...Dish!
That looks like an inline 4, possibly of the Honda lineage. Interceptor goes away, lengthen the chassis, putting the I-4 in the middle, drape with rusty Datsun sheetmetal?
F-Dat, indeed. (and by that, I mean, this is a great idea.

It's a 2009 cbr600rr. Story is it fell off a trailer during transport. It came with full akrapovic titanium/carbon fiber exhaust and a piggyback ecu with traction control and quickshifter.
Basically a really nice setup if you wanted to dominate f600 scca autox (fmod I think?).

Teardown begins. I couldn't believe the fiberglass body weighs 50lbs!!
Gumby told me not to judge him for any shoddy work on this car because he didn't build it. However:
The battery wasn't tied down at all, only the plastic case bolted to the sheet metal floor with a couple fender washers.
And it looks like it passed tech somewhere
I have reason to believe Gumby might be a cscc tech inspector. So is this really his fault? You be the judge.

This engine's got to go so let's start removing stuff. This is an interesting main relay setup. Also cool that it is just dangling there. Nice to have hot terminals just bouncing around during the race.
Quality fuel pump mount and distinct lack of hose clamp (yes, in the same general vicinity as the dangling main relay).
Aluminum diamond plate dashboard, out.
I wanted to preserve the throttle cable in case I need it but I needed to remove the carbs to get the end off.
This green goo that sort of smells like gas came out.
I'm keeping the push pull shifter cable and the baby wilwood master cylinder, so I took my time removing them.
Neato but boy is that an interesting way to connect the cable to the arm.
Sweet chain tensioner spacers.
I think the chain is on backwards... I'm not a bike guy but don't you normally put the master link facing out?
Here's where we are now. Engine nearly ready to come out.
In reply to Robbie :
Molds are free! Take a splash mold off the car, then either do a hand lay up or have someone spray you a chopper gun set of parts.
The hand lay up will be lighter ( especially if you do it in cloth) and stronger but take more time. Then put that body on this
Required use of cutting apparatus for engine removal. Bitchin!
Let the record also show that I was NOT a tech inspector in 2014

That would be freaking awesome. If September rolls around and I've got nothing to do I may try to pull that off. Reminds me of the carbon fiber Honda that got build for scca autox and then they changed the rules out from under the guy.
But man was that a cool car.

Yeah, and they must've set the chain tension, and THEN welded in the rear angles. Because effectively you cannot use the tensioners anymore in the current setup.
For the record I'm about 28 hours into this now.
Don't worry, Stampie can fab you up a new battery hold down in no time at all.

It looks like those diagonal tubes are welded to a flat piece that bolts to the frame...I hope.

Looks like the jury is still out on this being ALL my fault unlike the Tbird forum where that fact is permanently displayed in sig lines.

29 hours, engine out.
Coolant always seems to go exactly where you want it.
1984 Honda vf750f engine weight = about 220lbs
The one I'll be replacing this with is about 130... So that's a nice savings right there!
