Well I have been looking for a large van for a while as some of you know https://grassrootsmotorsports.com/forum/grm/learn-me-vans-for-people-who-dont-pull-out/200168/page1/ I can't seem to find sliding door (no clam) any decent ones. I was going to use the van to tow and for passenger roadtrips for our Missoula, MT drives.
My side hustle of the farm has been taken off (good thing). Thus the 2 Tacomas which I have, I used to tow the motorcycles and track cars have been busy actually at the farm. We added two new Tundras, that are also fulltime at work there.
Really no tow vehicle + pass vehicle (larger than a sedan) for me to use and abuse.
Well when you have been into Land Cruisers for 30 years and Ih8mud member for 20+ years, whenever good deals comes up, you have friends who alert you.
Great friend of mine on Ih8mud (Ken) - who himself has 6 land cruisers, alerted me a to this deal. I picked it up, and shes home now (Bought it Sat morning). 20 min deal, one of the easiest used car deal (if you have read my EVO purchase you know how BAD that was): https://grassrootsmotorsports.com/forum/build-projects-and-project-cars/worst-car-buying-experience-long-read-sedan-content-thanks-scottyb-javelin-bmw88rider/218147/page1/
UGLY:
This chassis comes in 2008-2011
no 2012
2013-2015 doug demuro has one
2016-2021 (best looking one)
All have the 5.7L. Some 6 speed and later 8 speed trans. Well I am not that big fan of the 200, aside from the 16+ models, but I don't want to pay the big bucks for that.
FAT
For those who saw my 100 series I bought last week, (https://grassrootsmotorsports.com/forum/build-projects-and-project-cars/got-me-a-hundy/257740/page1/) this truck isn't much bigger at all. However, due to the bulbous design, it looks visually a lot bigger and rounder. It actually drives smaller than the 100. Of course the motor in this is much stronger with a 0-60 6.6 seconds vs the 100 series 10 seconds.
TOW
It tows 8500 lbs. Perfect the Elise/MR2 and motorcycles and the Polaris.
Things that were done on the car (history, aside from brakes/tires/filters/fluids)
- Cooler box blower was replaced at 114K miles
- Water pump replaced
- Serpentine belts replaced
- Starter replaced (160K miles) - 2015 .
- Cam tower leaking 2019 (189K miles) - cam towers resealed
- Fuel sensing unit replaced 201K miles
- Radiator replaced + all belts replaced 217K miles
Most of these are all rusty . Thus had to inspect underneath
Went to breakfast. 7 Grown men, to Korea town. People in the car, all really apprecaite the LC, as they are all from parts of the world where LC are driven by MP/Ministers/ CEO, etc. So I got a kick out of that. Unlike the avg american who thinks its a sequia/highlander.
So funny that the LX is priced more than the LC when new, but in the used market, the street value, name, cachet of the LC is so much more than the LX.
No rattles, no squeaks. 85mph solid piece of steel (reminds me of my 06 LS430) down the LA freeways with a car full of people.
Given how most of my cars (at home) remain here for such short time (serious auto ADD and addiction), this one will be around for a while for sure. Definitely a keeper.
I love how fishbowl it is, even though the 08-11 is the ugliest of the 200 series. Oh well, beggars can't be choosers.

Would you quit buying all the good toyotas and let the rest of us have some?
Seriously though- that's excellent.
In reply to Mndsm :
Hah, thank you my friend! Definitely getting some good karma these days! Trying to pay it all forward.
Doesn't even look like it has 40k miles, and it's at 240k!
That rx300 is also nice. There's a lot of those for cheap in this area.

Thanks yeah the 200 LC is pretty minty.
RX has been living a good life, well taken care of but high usage (25K miles a year). What else can you do for a free car:

Need to get it to 3 more years for kids first car.

detroit spec would have been a single chunk of firewood, big rock, etc, per side, under the rocker panel about 1/2-wheelbase, so person 1 leans on front (or rear) to evelate opposite axle while person 2 grips yo dubz.
