Well we got to work on the 94 Accord today for the Chump car/GRM challenge next year. We removed the interior, addressed all he issues, and came up with a gameplan. We did add some flare for the time being.

I'm pretty sure this was a urinal cake under the seat.

Horsepower, race lighting, and a chin spoiler from some free garden liner that was left in my garage upon move in.

You're gonna blow out the welds on the intake manifold with all that horsepower...

You're definitely running dangerous levels of extra horsepower on stock internals there. We blew the clutch on our LeMons car in 2012, which we attribute to a few decals too many for the stock clutch to handle.

In all seriousness, great build in the making here!

I had that on my Civic Si splashscreen.

Interested in details on that forward lighting as the RX7 has recently been de-lighted.

The square black things are Rigid Industries duallies in spot light format. Just something I had laying around because RI screwed up an order and told me to keep them. The round lights are Hella 90mm sealed projectors that run a H7 or D2S bulbs.

I have a set of Mini H11 bi-xenon projectors that I might use instead of the Hellas. Pry open the light housings, and you simply thread the projector through the bulb opening. No cutting, no nonsense. That'll give us a nice spread of light at night and the spot lights can just be additional if needed. They'll all fit within the rules.

Our main objective right now is to get the car sorted in stock form, add the mandatory safety equipment, get it to some autox/rallyx/hpdes, and then see what we can use with the additional points.

I found a lot of stuff off our old GRM challenge car that will come in handy as well.

Awesome to see another Chump build.

Interior is completely gutted and ready for a cage. Going to drop the motor and then send the car to the cage builder. Need to figure out why there is no compression in cylinder 3. Plus I need to at least do the timing belt. Luckily I still have my hook-ups at Honda for OEM parts.

I wonder how many points a K-Swap would get us.

Anyone have any recommendations on shocks to use for this series? Race radios? etc.

Did you have an LT1 TA?

Probably want to look at Tokico Blues or similar. Shock rules just changed and they're allowing improved (better than OE replacement) shocks as long as they aren't adjustable, serviceable, revalveable, etc. There's still some debate about what that means, but the Blues sound like a good safe bet.

Radios? I'm no expert on that. I have a pair of Motorla CP200s that I've been using. They're really good, with excellent battery life and range, but probably pricey (I don't know, I got mine used in a deal with some other racing stuff), and they need to be reprogrammed for different frequencies.

I've had decent luck with really cheap in-helmet headsets from China (on ebay). You can get ones with a remote push-to-talk button and have a spot for that on the dash or near the shifter. Has worked well for us.

Opti yes I did and an LS1 as well.

Johny thanks for the input. I've had plenty of experience with radios just not in this situation or the budget I was dealing with before. Thanks for the input. I'm trying to see if any of my circle track friends have anything on the cheap for me.

Hey fellow LeMons team :) What is this #321? A Hyundai or Toyota?

Usually you can ID a urinal cake by taste.

Some updates. We had to replace the rear subframe thanks to some accident damage. Luckily the junkyard gave me a subframe with rear disc, a master cylinder, and proportioning valve for less than three digits. Car has been prepped and measured for the cage and I'm working out some electrical gremlins at the moment. We've got a nasty parasitic draw. Engine is pretty solid minus the distributor and starter.

Brake ducting coming in through the turn signal housings.

Some headlight upgrades. Had leftover parts from retrofits of yesteryears. The HID and mini h1 projectors should be nice, clean, and clear for night time driving and not nearly as expensive as LED light bars.

The Chevelle is being turned into a gasser. We aren't sure what we are doing with the engine yet. Trying to convince my dad into putting 4.8 or 5.3 twin turbo setup with a t56. The 396 in there is just tired and has way too many drag passes on it. Car will be painted that rusty red you see around the rear jams in the one picture.
