That way you won't have to take 'em off if you autocross it.

You think? As much as I got tired of cleaning the Abarth's white wheels, I've thought about painting these. Just unsure what. Hm maybe a Photoshop render this weekend.
I spent 15-20 minutes with fingernails scraping those two ancient decals off the dashboard. Followed with WD-40 for the remaining adhesive, then glass cleaner to clean that off.
Doesn't look too bad, slightly different fade but barely noticeable. I put the new electric shut off decal on the console lid since that's where it is now. The E decal ended up just being vinyl, I put it on the passenger rear side window but I think I'll make 2 new ones and just put them on the roof by the each window.
Yeah people always want to use Goo-Gone for sticker residue but then you have Goo Gone residue! And glass cleaner does a bad job of getting off Goo Gone.
I volunteered to help the SCCA at Dayton Cars and Coffee this morning. Got there at 630am and people were already parking. We got our cars set up and some postcards with the schedule, managed to have a cone keep them from blowing away in 20mph winds. Did take out the table once, we lowered it and hiked up the table cover a bit.
Joel had the most people photographing his Elise with the K swap, but I had a decent 2nd place especially when people read the big poster board of info and photos the seller gave me, talking about the car's history. Maybe next time the wind won't be so crazy and I can put it next to the car.
I helped DC&C with the parking a little, and helped at the end to get 1000+ cars out of Austin Landing. I ended up at the main entrance/exit trying to direct traffic in multiple directions by myself. My arms were killing me, and only two people ignored the big green vest and tried to run me over.

What color Mustang were they?
After DC&C, I spent some time in the garage and decided to cut out a square of carpeting, down by the gas pedal. It looked like when the PO installed the interior, it bunched up a little and helped cause the very narrow space. I was having to drive with my foot at an angle to keep from hitting the brake.
I drove it to work this morning, wearing my normal big-ass Sketchers and had no issues. I almost forgot about it. Part of me is slightly tempted to remove the interior and take it back to the stripped-down state it was for the race.
Yesterday afternoon I took it to a meet by a local group called NoLimits937 that was meeting at a casino for the first time. It was near her house so figured why not.
You can see her Sky next to me. Younger crowd, as I expected, but still some nice cars and a bit of variety. She even had a few people photograph her car and comment on it.
I think I need a small version of the poster board with a Cliffs Notes version of info on the windshield. I don't think anyone knew what the Pro Celebrity Grand Prix was, or why I was such a Dwight Yoakam fan.
Everyone told me this whole weekend would be rained out, so imagine my happy when I woke up Saturday to sunshine. Two different C&C to choose from (Dayton and West Chester), I figured if Dayton was too crowded (not volunteering this month so not getting there at 630am), I would go 20min south to West Chester's new spot at a casino. But after cruising a little bit around Dayton's spot, I pulled into the main 1st lot just as 3 guys were leaving near the entrance. Me & an older gent in a new Camaro happily took two spots.
It was then that I noticed it did not want to leave reverse. I gave it a few good twists and pulls, nothing. Screw it, I'm here, I'm parked, might as well walk around and figure it out later. After about an hour I came back, and 10min of brute force would not budge it. berkeley, SWMBO was nearby at breakfast with a friend. I figured she could come get me & I could get a tow truck later like 12-1pm.
But I decided to try starting it and see what I could do. Started it, let the clutch out slowly & after it moved maybe one foot the gear popped into neutral like nothing ever happened. Lesson learned. It got stuck one other time, in my driveway, the first drive after getting it home, but then I was able to just use a bit of force.
I bought a cupholder cellphone mount, but as I was afraid I hit it every time I go into 1 - 3 - 5th gear. So either a suction cup, or maybe something screwed into the dash like I did the RAM mount in the old Miata.
(And I did make a small sign, I noticed quite a few people reading it & discovering what the car was. I talked to a few near the end, got some compliments.)
A friend told me one of my brake lights was very dim, so I figured I'd replace both sides. I had to Google and watch a YouTube video from the UK on how to get these opened up. I would have never guessed that hidden metal clip between the two pieces to get to two more screws.
The driver's side was good, the passenger side was corroded to oblivion. I tried to save it but no use. No local stores seemed to carry the 1157 socket so I rolled the dice on Amazon. They actually delivered a two pack on Memorial Day.
It also actually fit into the housing. I had SWMBO hit the lights and brake pedal because one wire color was different, figured it out and wired it in.
I then discovered there were two lights per housing, and the 2nd one was even worse.
Glad I bought a 2 pack of sockets. There was water in the housing, which explains all the corrosion. I drained what I could and blasted it with the air compressor. Wired the 2nd one and presto:
There's a 3rd bulb for the turn signal. Guess what? Yup. But it's functioning for now so I'll let it go. I know where to get more sockets and I'm an expert on removing the tail lights now.
Goofing around on eBay last week, I saw a program guide from the 1990 race for $20 plus shipping. I made an offer of $15 (plus $5) and now I have a~100 page program from the race.
I kind of want the t-shirt and pullover now.
More eBay shenanigans. Found a ticket from the race, $10 including shipping. Wonder what else I can find.

I wouldn't be shocked if you could make that happen, would make a great story for a magazine or social media.

I've been trying to figure out how to contact him. His website has no email/messaging link. Facebook account no message link. Not sure if I feel like trying X/Twitter just to contact and find out he's not there either.
If someone else does the X thing and can check for me... hell I'd settle for shipping the glovebox or console lid with a self addressed return box.
For a second, I thought I hit the jackpot. Internet archive teased me with a bit of info, linked from Wikipedia, but the history and vehicle spec buttons don't work. Ugh.
In reply to Jerry :
You'd probably need to find who manages Dwight & contact them. If I get some time I'll see if I can find out any details.

I just spent a few minutes trying 4-5 different places that could book him for events, figured better than nothing. Also if I'm correct, I found that Activist Artists Management is his management company & went through their contact form.
The sister car of this appears to be for sale.
